This journey,
At the Ryukyu Rehabilitation College open campus
The theme was "The presence of therapists seen from a wheelchair"
I had a chance to talk to him.
On January 30, 2013, he died due to a condition called spinal arteriovenous malformation.
He suffered a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed from the waist down and confined to a wheelchair.
From able-bodied to disabled in just 30 minutes.
That day, my life changed dramatically.
Life without the use of my legs is completely different.
There are still many things I'm not used to, but I'm paving the way.
Currently, through parasurfing competitions
Therapists are there to help us find our way.
Thanks to them, we started from zero and became one.
I have gotten to where I am today through the accumulation of many small successes.
This experience can be applied to various situations and will encourage you to take on challenges.
Don't stop. Move into life.
Until recently, I had a lack of confidence in myself.
That's not the case now.
What has changed since then is that I have more time to face myself.
My life changed dramatically that day, but I still face the threads and waves.
There seems to be a lot more that can be done.
To the world.
